The SolidTrack Field Unit records position where available and three-axis motion on the asset, then reports that record to the platform. Where you mount it affects both the motion it sees and how reliably it gets a signal out, so placement matters throughout the install.
Before mounting, find a flat, rigid surface away from the point of impact and check you can reach it with a driver. The housing is sealed, with no external connectors and no separate antenna, so there is nothing to route and no clearance to leave.
