A Meter for the Tool That Never Had One

A breaker has no engine, no dashboard and no counter, so its hours often depend on an estimate. The sealed, battery-powered Field Unit mounts to the tool itself and builds an activity record without being wired into the machine.

The SolidTrack Field Unit, a sealed 68 × 68 × 25 mm tracking device

Built for Real-World Field Conditions

SolidTrack begins in the field with a telemetry unit designed for demanding industrial environments. Its sealed construction supports deployment around the dust and washdowns common on heavy equipment sites, and the Field Unit is rated for up to 8 g of shock and vibration.

Fully encapsulated

Nylon housing molded around epoxy: no seams, no service hatches.

68 × 68 × 25 mm

170 g, so it fits where a wired tracker cannot.

IP69K rated

Rated IP69K for high-pressure washdowns and dust. Its specified operating temperature range is −30 °C to +85 °C.

Store-and-forward outside coverage

The store-and-forward log holds 300 entries by default and forwards retained records after network coverage returns.

What the Field Unit Helps You Understand

Reported Data

Location & Movement

Reports GPS/GNSS and mobile cellular position where available. Location availability, accuracy and freshness depend on conditions, network coverage and reporting cadence.

Operating Hours

Automated activity logging builds operating-time records without relying only on manual hour entries.

Usage Context

Separate recorded activity from inactive periods to give utilization figures useful operating context.

Maintenance Awareness

Due and overdue maintenance alerts keep configured service requirements visible, while telemetry and usage-based anomaly alerts highlight equipment that may need review.

Especially Valuable in Hydraulic Breaker Operations

In hydraulic breaker and attachment-heavy environments, better visibility into usage and operating conditions helps reduce unnecessary wear, improve service timing and support longer equipment life.

Works without machine power

Battery powered and self-contained, so it goes on breakers and attachments that have no electrical supply.

It can tell hammering from sitting still

Three-axis motion telemetry supports activity and utilization records for equipment without its own hour meter.

Enhanced Durability

Protective Cover Option

For high-impact work, the Field Unit drops into a molded cover between two shock absorbers, so strikes and vibration reach the housing softened rather than head-on. The kit ships with the absorbers, four M8 × 50 mm hex screws and bushings; it bolts to a 72 × 72 mm hole pattern at up to 30 Nm. Cut-outs in the cover stay clear of the unit's indicators.

Scalable Deployment

Designed for Practical Deployment

We designed the Field Unit for the real world of maintenance. Because it carries its own battery and needs no wiring, fitting it is a retrofit job measured in minutes per machine. It screws to a flat face at a maximum of 3 Nm, so a unit can be moved to another asset with a driver when your fleet changes.

The Field Layer Behind the Platform

The unit reports motion and position telemetry and can retain records locally when there is no network connection, subject to storage capacity. The platform combines that telemetry with inspections, maintenance records, documents, alerts and user-assigned site, operator and shift context.

Built to Support Operational Decisions

You stop guessing where things are

Reported location and movement history make it easier to review when equipment changes site or leaves an expected area.

The workshop stops guessing too

Recorded activity, configured intervals and service history give the workshop better context for planning the next maintenance action.

Site boundaries look after themselves

Create the site boundary, assign the equipment to monitor and use entry, exit or breach alerts to follow boundary events.

One version of the week

The office, the workshop and the site read the same record, so Monday does not start by reconciling three accounts of the same five days.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does installation take?

Minutes per asset. The unit is battery powered and screws to a flat face at a maximum of 3 Nm, so there is no wiring, no power take-off and no machine downtime.

Can I fit it to attachments that have no power supply?

Yes. The Field Unit runs on its own encapsulated battery, which is why it suits hydraulic breakers, buckets and other attachments where a wired tracker is not an option.

How rugged is it?

The housing is nylon molded around epoxy with no seams or service hatches. It is rated IP69K for high-pressure washdowns and dust, and its specified operating temperature range is −30 °C to +85 °C. The Field Unit is rated for up to 8 g of shock and vibration. Mount it away from the point of direct impact and use the protective cover where the installation requires additional physical protection.

What happens where there is no mobile coverage?

The store-and-forward log holds 300 entries by default and forwards retained records after coverage returns. Long periods without a connection can exceed the available storage capacity, so the record should not be described as guaranteed complete.

Is it just GPS tracking?

No. Alongside reported position, the unit records motion and other sensor telemetry. SolidTrack derives activity metrics from motion telemetry and uses the resulting record for utilization and service context; activity hours are not a raw sensor reading.

Do I need a separate data plan?

Each unit includes an embedded SIM. Hardware, connectivity and subscription scope are listed in the applicable quote or order rather than assumed from a package name.
